The Premier's Reading Challenge is on again for 2020. Students in Kindergarten-Year 2 will read a total of 30 books at school (with a teacher or librarian) to complete the challenge. Students in Years 3-6 will need to independently read 20 books to complete the challenge and enter their information online. Each class will be shown how to do this during the challenge period. The challenge runs from Monday 2nd March – Friday 28st August. Last year we had 177 students complete the challenge, including two students who received their Platinum award (for completing the challenge every year from Kindergarten to Year 6). We are hoping for even more students to complete the challenge in 2020.
Scholastic Book Club brochures are sent home twice a term (only once in Term 1). These provide some quality, affordable books to purchase for your child, whilst helping raise funds for our school library. Please check your child's bag for these brochures.
Book Week will run again this year in mid-August. The theme for this year is "Curious creatures, wild minds". We will be having a book parade and a Scholastic Book Fair, which is tentatively booked in for a week around the time of Book Week. This date will be confirmed closer to the event.
